Notchka Pty Ltd (“Notchka”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information we collect and hold. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By dealing with us — including by applying for a trade account, placing an order, or contacting us through our website — you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy.
1. The information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact details — name, business name, position, postal and business addresses, phone, fax and email.
- Business details — Australian Business Number (ABN), trading name, type of business and bank/branch details.
- Identity information — driver’s licence details and a copy of the licence, where provided as part of a credit application.
- Director and proprietor details — names and addresses of directors or proprietors of an applicant business.
- Trade reference details — the names and contact details of referees you nominate.
- Transaction information — orders, invoices, payments and account history.
- Website information — information collected automatically when you use our website, such as IP address and browsing activity (see section 8).
2. How we collect information
We collect personal information directly from you wherever practicable — for example through our credit account application form, our website enquiry form, by phone, by email, or in the course of supplying goods to you. Where you apply for a trade account, we may also contact the trade referees you nominate to verify the references you have provided.
3. Why we collect and use information
We collect, hold and use personal information to: assess and process credit account applications; verify identity and check the trade references you provide; supply goods and manage your account, orders, deliveries and invoicing; communicate with you about your account, orders and enquiries; respond to enquiries submitted through our website or by other means; meet our legal and regulatory obligations; and, where you have not opted out, send you information about our products and services (see section 7).
4. Who we disclose information to
We may disclose personal information to: the trade referees you nominate, to verify the references provided; third party service providers who assist us (for example, IT, accounting, freight and delivery providers); our professional advisers; and government or regulatory bodies, or others, where required or authorised by law. We do not sell personal information.
5. Trade references and credit assessment
Where you apply for a credit account, you authorise Notchka to contact the trade referees you have nominated in order to assess your application. Notchka assesses credit applications using the information you provide and the references you nominate; we do not obtain reports from external credit reporting bodies.
6. Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Sensitive information is stored either on secure, password-protected computers and servers, or in locked storage. Access is limited to authorised personnel. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
7. Direct marketing and opt-out
We may use your contact details to send you information about our products and services. You can ask us to stop at any time by contacting us at admin@notchka.com or by using the unsubscribe option in any electronic message. We will action your request within a reasonable time.
8. Cookies and website analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as your IP address, device and browsing activity in an anonymised or aggregated form. This information helps us improve our website. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by managing cookies through your browser settings. 9. Overseas disclosure
Our website server is located in Australia, and we do not routinely disclose personal information to overseas recipients. However, some third-party services we use — such as Google Analytics — may store or process limited information (such as anonymised website usage data) on servers outside Australia.

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.
